American Legion Post 235 located in Matthews on Wednesday night had their annual installation of Post Officers for the 2018-2019 calendar year. These newly elected leaders will officially take their positions effective July 1st.
The outgoing Commander Alan Burgess passed the gavel over to the new Post 235 Commander Phil Mowry. Interesting enough both gentlemen were former Majors in the United States Air Force.
In attendance were some of the local Board of Commissioners John Urban and Jeff Miller, Mayor Pro-Tem John Higdon, 40 plus Legion members, spouses and guests including Ed Steel, Secretary from the Matthews Masonic Lodge.
