American Legion Post 235 located in Matthews on Wednesday night had their annual installation of Post Officers for the 2018-2019 calendar year.  These newly elected leaders will officially take their positions effective July 1st.

The outgoing Commander Alan Burgess passed the gavel over to the new Post 235 Commander Phil Mowry.  Interesting enough both gentlemen were former Majors in the United States Air Force.

The American Legion raises millions of dollars in donations at the local, state and national levels to assist veterans and their families during times of need and to provide college scholarship opportunities.  The Legionnaires are devoted to service, patriotism, volunteerism, and camaraderie.
