Local Fastpitch Softball 2021 Graduating Seniors

MINT HILL, NC – The Mint Hill Times sports writers would like to highlight this year’s seniors, who are playing and competing in their final season at their local high schools. All these athletes have made a significant contribution to their teams and school sports programs.

Independence Patriots Seniors Maya Douglas, Mallory Shaver, Averie DiBenedetto, and Mackenzie Grant.

Some of these seniors participate in two sports, including Maya Douglas and Averie DiBenedetto from Independence High School. All are solid student-athletes who will graduate and move on to college and prepare for careers in various occupations taking them into adulthood.

The Stallion athletes from Queen’s Grant High School will be attending the following colleges and universities. Nicole Azar, and Serafina Perrotti have made a decision to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While Anne  Estelle Strawn, and Mackenzie Inman will both be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Meanwhile, the hometown Independence Patriots seniors have made commitments to the following colleges and universities. Maya Douglas is heading to the Ivy League and will be attending Harvard University in the fall to compete in softball. Mallory Shaver will play softball at the University of South Carolina Aiken; Averie DiBenedetto will attend Roanoke College to compete in basketball, and Mackenzie Grant will be attending Johnson C. Smith University to become a member of the softball program.
