
The Lady Patriots started the second half of the Southwestern 4A Conference basketball schedule with a road win over the Hickory Ridge Ragin’ Bulls and maintained sole possession of third place with a 5-2 conference record.
During the contest, the Lady Patriots controlled the boards on both ends of the court. The ladies pulled down 22 offensive and 25 defensive rebounds for a total of 47 boards. Three of the Lady Patriots had 41 of those 47 rebounds. Gracie Breckenridge led the Lady Patriots with 17 rebounds. Ayanna Anderson had 14 boards and Laura Flynn grabbed 10 rebounds.

Trinity Thompson led the Lady Patriots with 14 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 8 steals. Braylyn Milton added 13 points, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot. Laura Flynn scored 9 points, had 10 boards, 1 steal, and 1 assist. Ayanna Anderson added 5 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, had 3 assists and 1 steal. Gracie Breckenridge hit for 5 points, had a game-high 17 boards and 7 blocked shots. Azuria Barrino finished the scoring with 4 points and 3 rebounds.
The Lady Bulls jumped out to a 5-2 lead before Indy’s Braylyn Milton went to the charity stripe on two occasions sinking all four free throws to put Indy up 6-5. After getting the lead, the Lady Patriots went on an 11-0 run to make the first-period score 17-5.

Indy started the second quarter on a Braylyn Milton drive to the basket and a Gracie Breckenridge free throw putting Indy up 20-7.
With 4:06 remaining, Laura Flynn scored from the baseline followed by a Gracie Breckenridge drive to the basket and a top of the key 3-pointer by Braylyn Milton made the score 27-10.
After Trinity Thompson created two turnovers and scoring on both plays, the Lady Patriots led 31-19 as the first half came to an end.
Indy’s Trinity Thompson started the second half with a 3-point basket followed by an Ayanna Anderson free throw. With 4:17 showing on the clock, Laura Flynn scored an old fashioned 3-point play putting Indy up 38-21.
As the period was winding down, Ayanna Anderson scored four quick points. She scored on a drive to the basket and gain after pulling down an offensive rebound to make the score 44-21. However, Hickory Ridge scored 3-points before time ran out making the score 44-24 at the end of three quarters.
The Lady Patriots had a little offensive let down in the fourth quarter. The Lady Patriots managed only six fourth-quarter points while allowing Hickory Ridge to score 13 points.
The Lady Patriots took the conference win 50-37. With the win, the Lady Patriots improved to 14-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
