July’s lunch program kicked off with a welcome from Executive Director Paige McKinney, who thanked Olde Sycamore for hosting and providing a delicious lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, cole slaw and cucumber salad.  Director Scott Salisbury (SWS Financial Group) led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Immediate Past President Kim Rhodarmer (Servant’s Heart) led the group in prayer.

Present at Tuesday’s luncheon from the Board of Commissioners were Commissioners Tony Long and Twanna Henderson and Mayor Pro Tem Dale Dalton.  Board of Directors Liaison Dalton shared that the recently renovated tennis courts and new pickleball courts at Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park are expected to be ready for use soon.  Dalton also spoke about a proposition under consideration to change the terms of office for Mint Hill’s elected officials from 2-years to 4-year staggered terms.

This month’s Chamber Member Spotlight was Dawn Leavesly from Messer Financial Group.  “I joined the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce to develop meaningful business relationships in the Mint Hill Community,” explains Leavesly.  “I also find so much value in supporting the Chamber and their mission to support local businesses.”  Also honored at the luncheon was Tony Long, a charter member of the Chamber and owner/manager of Mint Hill Tool Rental, which was selected as the Chamber’s Business of the Month for July.

The opportunity to share member-to-member connections that positively impact our community is always a highlight of the Monthly Member Luncheon.  Kim Rhodarmer sang the praises of Soothe the Soles, relaying how happy her staff was to be gifted with sessions for a foot soak and reflexology session.  Owner of Soothe the Soles Sandy Harrison praised The Mint Hill Times, crediting her ads and column with earning her a speaking opportunity and three recent bookings.
