MATTHEWS, NC – Have you and your pets had all of your vaccines and are now itching to get out of the house and actually hang out with friends and your pets? Well, then “Let’s PAW-TY like it’s National Pet Week!” with Passionate Paws Animal Hospital and their furry friends on Sunday, May 2 from Noon to 2 PM.  Passionate Paws will host a get together to showcase their new location in Matthews, NC along with South Charlotte Dog Rescue, Mario’s Italian Restaurant, and Solis Chestnut Farms apartments.

“We have missed connecting with pet parents and their fur babies at events and are so excited to be hosting our first event in over a year.”  Dr. Susan Bonilla, owner and veterinarian at Passionate Paws Animal Hospital, explains. “It’s also the first event that we are able to hold at our newest location in the Chestnut Arbor Shopping Center in the Matthews-Weddington area. So, we get to show everyone our new location and really celebrate that and our love for fur babies with May 2 being the start of National Pet Week.”

The “PAW-ty” will be at Passionate Paws Animal Hospital in the Chestnut Arbor Shopping Center (2925 Matthews Weddington Rd., Suite 100, Matthews, NC 28104).  South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR) will be onsite with adoptable puppies and dogs along with merchandise to help support their rescue efforts.  There will be a raffle with some amazing prizes and all proceeds will go to SCDR.  Mario’s Italian Restaurant will have their huge pet-friendly patio available for food and drinks.  They will have a DJ bringing the hits to Mario’s patio which is also social distancing friendly. Solis Chestnut Farms apartments, which are located right across the street, will join in the fun with a photo booth and treats for pets and people!

Members of SCDR will be at the "PAW-ty" with adoptable pups and merchandise.

Stephen Bonilla, Hospital Administrator and owner,  chimed in, “It’s always fun to throw an event but it makes it even better when we can help support our friends at South Charlotte Dog Rescue. We hope to see pet parents and their fur babies on May 2, and that we can kick off National Pet Week with our hearts in the right place; focused on caring for not just our fur baby patients but those animals in need.”
