Irene Cafe Celebrates Fifth Year Anniversary in Mint Hill

Irene Café a small family owned Coffee, Crepes, Chocolate shop located in downtown Mint Hill on Lawyer’s Road will be celebrating their fifth year in business in our local community.

The French style Coffee shop serves it’s customers some of the freshest and most delicious coffee in town.  They have a steady and dedicated group of customer’s who stop by for a good cup of coffee and delicious crepes, quiche and for good conversation in a very quaint and quiet atmosphere.

The merchant owner and president Kidane Sayfou was born in Belgium and grew up in France named the Café after his mother Irene.  Kidane comes from a long line of chef’s and restaurant owners in his family where he learned the finer techniques and skills of the restaurant business.  His father was a chef who learned his trade in some of France’s finest culinary schools and institutes and perfected his craft in the hospitality industry.

Kidane is a friendly and jovial entrepreneur who thoroughly enjoys his loyal customer base who stop by daily and weekly for a cup of coffee, a delicious crepe and good conversation in a relaxed French Café styled establishment.  A continental style breakfast is available in the mornings. The customer also has a choice of strawberry, banana or blueberry crepe with Nutella.  There is an assortment of tasty sandwiches which include egg salad, chicken salad and homemade soups are available.

Starting on October 1st the cozy Café will open in the evenings.  Kidane will add a wine and cheese menu to the selection along with their usual savory crepes, quiche, salads and soups will still be available for the customers to enjoy.  There is a fine selection of wine and even a bottle of champagne will be available upon request and for special occasions.

On Monday evenings there will be cello music, Tuesday painting and wine night, on Wednesday food and wine pairing night, Thursday and Friday will be open menu nights. Also, on the first Friday of the month there will be music provided in conjunction with the Mint Hill Arts Center.

The business normally operates between 9 AM and 3 PM daily Monday through Friday.  On Saturday they open at 9 AM and close at 1 PM.  During the evenings they will be open until 9 PM, however, will remain open to 10 PM depending upon customer demand and enjoyment.
