From August 3 through August 12, The Mint Hill Times will accept nominations in all twelve categories.  All nominees must be located in Mint Hill (Mint Hill or 28227 address).  We’ll whittle the nominations down to three finalists in each category, and from August 17 through August 26, we’ll open it up to the public again to vote for your favorites!

The highest vote getter in each category will be featured in the September 7 issue of The Mint Hill Times.  They’ll also receive a plaque to display in their place of business proudly proclaiming them the Mint Hill Times Reader’s Choice for “Best of Local Flavor!”

Mint Hill’s Best Local Flavors would not be possible without the generosity of our sponsors, Havilah Dance Company and 1st Choice Properties.  “Havilah Dance Company in Matthews is so excited to sponsor the first ‘Best Local Flavors’ contest!” said Gail Dawkins.  “The last three years have been rough for many local businesses, so we’re thrilled to be able to support our local culinary community through this contest. We can’t wait to see who the Mint Hill Times’ readership votes for.”

“When I heard The Mint Hill Times was looking for sponsors for this contest, I jumped on board,” added 1st Choice Properties Owner Anna Granger, who is sponsoring the plaques for contest winners.  “We love to support our fellow local businesses and create fun ways for the Town of Mint Hill come together, and this contest is a great way to do both.”
