
MINT HILL, NC – Entering Friday night’s non-conference road game at Hopewell High School, the Independence Patriots were looking to improve their record to 4-0.
The Patriots posted the most points of the season as they routed the Hopewell Titans 69-14 and improved to 4-0 as the Patriots enter their bye week.

Justin Little started at quarterback for Indy and completed 19-of-23 passes for 342 yards and five touchdowns. The sophomore quarterback also ran 21 yards for a touchdown.
Justin Springs and Austin Cowick led the Patriots’ receiving corps with five catches each. Both receivers had 112 yard of offense and both of them scored one touchdown.
Brian Crowder pulled in four passes for 63 yards and a touchdown while William Brown also had four receptions for 50 yards scoring two touchdowns.
Landen Carr led Indy with 83 yards on five carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Justin Little ran the ball six times for 48 yards and one score. Shaun Soloman had seven carries for 20 yards and a touchdown and freshman quarterback Nick Reddish had two carries for 20 yards.

With 3:54 left in the first half, Indy had the ball on the Titans’ three-yard line. Linebacker and defensive end Joshua Iseah came into the game and lined up as a running back. Iseah got the ball and ran it into the end zone for a touchdown. Indy finished the half on a 39 yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Springs to lead the Titans 42-12 at the half.
Indy started the second half with Little throwing a 50-yard strike to Brian Crowder. Little also connected with Crowder for a 15-yard touchdown to make the score 49-14. The Patriots put the game away at the 9:09 mark when Hopewell’s center centered the ball over the punters head and the Patriots took over on the Titans’ nine-yard line. On the next play Little hit William Brown for the touchdown which started the running clock as Indy increased its lead 56-14.
Landen Carr ended the game for the Patriots by scoring on a three yard run with 3:22 left in the game making the score 63-14. Carr added a second touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 38 yard run to make the final score 69-14.
After the bye week, Indy will start conference play hosting Charlotte Catholic on the 23rd of September.
