The cadets from the Air Force JROTC program at Independence High School recently participated in the 2nd Annual 5 mile run for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Monroe, North Carolina on October 6th.

“Our kids are great, they always want to participate in any way possible to assist and support our local area veterans. The cadets have a sense of camaraderie and show solidarity with those who have served our nation,” said Lt. Col., Jeffrey Jenkins, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor.

The cadets from Independence High School also participated in the “Moving Wall Exhibit” at Veterans Memorial Park in Mint Hill this past weekend in various activities including the Color Guard in the opening ceremony.
