
MINT HILL, NC – On Monday night the West Mecklenburg women’s basketball team collapsed against the visiting Lady Patriots who routed the Lady Hawks 76-7 and improved their record to 2-0.
Sophomore point guard Kaylee Carson led the Lady Patriots with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals. Tamia Burgess poured in 12 points, pulled down 3 rebounds, had 1 assist, 3 steals, and 1 blocked shot. Kaila Ingram added 11 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, had 1 assist and 1 steal. Freshman Kamryn Kitchen rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.

Makinley Sellars added 9 points, had 1 rebound, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot. Chloe Moss scored 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Lily Todd had 4 points, pulled down 5 rebounds, and had 2 steals, Olivia Clark added 4 points. She also had 3 rebounds and 4 steals, Midori Walkup finished the night with 1 assist and 1 steal.
The Lady Patriots dominated the game from the beginning by jumping out to a 32-1 first-quarter lead. The Lady Patriots added 17 second-quarter points and led 49-3 at the end of the first half. In the second half Indy poured in 27 additional points and took a 76-7 non-conference victory.
