MONROE, NC – Turning Point is hosting one of its largest fundraisers of the year. The Annual Fall Golf Tournament will be held on October 4, 2021, and will be hosted by Rolling Hills Country Club in Monroe. Golfers and sponsors are encouraged to come out and support such a giving organization. During COVID-19, there has been an alarming increase in the number of victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. It is more important than ever that we come together to support each other. What better way than to golf and have some fun with your friends or family and/or provide sponsorship for the tournament?

Getting together and supporting Turning Point is a wonderful way to give directly back to your local community. Funds that are raised at this event and others hosted by them go directly back to the community, locally serving and supporting people that we know in the community that have been victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.

The organization provides safe shelters and resources that are life-saving to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. It is their vision to help promote that all people have safe and healthy relationships in their lives. The vision works to ensure all families are living free from domestic abuse, sexual assault, and child abuse in homes, schools, workplaces, and in the community.

Joining the event is a great way to bring together like-minded people that enjoy golfing together to support a great organization. At the event, participants are provided with breakfast and lunch along with snacks and drinks while on the course. Participants can also buy raffle tickets to win some amazing prizes. Jessie Lindberg, Executive Director at Turning Point, shares with the community that “Our annual golf tournament is more than a fundraiser for us. It is a time for our neighbors and friends to come together to show their support for the resilient and amazing people we serve. Community support is so vital to the stability of our organization, and we are so humbled by the way our county rallies around our mission.”

On the day of the event, golfers can join together at Rolling Hills Country Club at 8:00 am for registration. After registration, breakfast is served; then at 9:00 am participants can compete in one of the most exciting events at the tournament, the “Charity Launcher.” This is an event that gives participants a chance to see how far they can launch the ball. The winner comes home with full bragging rights for the entire year. Then it is showtime! Participants get time to get out on the course and make some memories while supporting a great organization. Each golfer also receives a “goodie bag” from Turning Point. The bags include items from sponsors along with a gift from Turning Point to show appreciation for participating in the annual event.
