Where else can you play golf, drink beer, eat AMAZING food, win prizes, and have it all raise money that is used to help rescue dogs in need? The 3rd Annual South Charlotte Dog Rescue Golf Classic is in full swing this year with AM King Construction and Passionate Paws Animal Hospital as proud sponsors and over 120 golfers already signed up with two weeks to go before the event.
South Charlotte Dog Rescue President Danielle Spuler is thrilled with how the event is coming together this year. “We are so excited to have a significant increase already in teams signed up from previous years. The support we receive from the community, our sponsors, teams, and volunteers is what allows us to continue to do what we love…helping rescue dogs in need in Charlotte. Every donation we receive helps, and we are hopeful to have the best event yet this year. It’s not too late to sign up! We want to encourage teams and individuals to register on our website and we are also still taking raffle and monetary donations,” Spuler says.
The Annual Golf Classic is being held at Firethorne Country Club on Monday, September 30 with a 10am shotgun start.
The Annual Golf Classic benefits South Charlotte Dog Rescue, a local 501(c)(3) volunteer dog rescue organization that helps find homes for wonderful dogs in need of adoption. This event specifically raises money for the Emergency Medical Fund (EMF). The EMF is used to directly service the dogs in the community by providing spay/neuter services, vaccinations, heart worm testing, critical injuries, and surgery. As veterinary costs continue to rise, more help with medical funding is needed. Each donation increases the funds available for animal medical care assistance.
What can you expect at this year’s event? There will be LOTS of food with a continental breakfast, boxed snacks, and an awards banquet catered by South Main BBQ. There will be amazing raffle prizes and activities along the course. Did we mention you could win a golf cart? Courtesy of Metrolina Carts, at the designated hole if you get a hole in one you could win your very own golf cart!! There will be alcohol to ensure that all teams are feeling good and having a great time! Every attendee will get a swag bag with an event t-shirt and promo items from sponsors. It wouldn’t be a South Charlotte Dog Rescue event without dogs…so there will also be lots of adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes.
All donations are completely voluntary and 100% of the proceeds from the raffle will go to SCDR.
