Good news for Mint Hill home buyers: the ribbon has been cut to mark the opening of the First Choice Properties offices. Nestled inside the Mint Hill Village, the new offices of First Choice provide a home base for the locally owned business. “I’ve been living and working in Mint Hill for the past seventeen years. I have raised three children in this community and I love it. I was working out of my home and having a brick and mortar presence is the next step.” says First Choice Properties Broker-in-Charge, Anna Granger.

The office provides the perfect place for closings, meetings with lawyers and lenders, and training sessions with staff. “Most of my agents work out of their homes, but it will be nice to have a space where we can meet clients versus going to a coffee shop.” Granger explains. Granger’s First Choice realtors cover a wide variety of locations not only in Matthews and Mint Hill but also from Waxhaw to Fort Mill to South Charlotte. She also hopes to hire several more brokers within the next year and wants to provide a presence in the community they will be serving.
One of the things Granger enjoyed the most about this new space was decorating it. “It was the last space available here in the Mint Hill Village and I really wanted it to reflect and celebrate Mint Hill and the amazing growth we have seen in this town!” With that in mind, Granger used local businesses to help her create her signature look. She hired Brian Stogner with Elemental Pixtours to take photos of Mint Hill landmarks, such as the local fire and police department buildings, Veterans Memorial Park, The Mint Hill Town Clock, and, of course, the new First Choice office building. “Brian does all of the photography for our website, our listings, and our virtual property tours. He takes such beautiful photos so I was lucky to have him.” Anna shares, “I also reached out to Rich Schepler at AlphaGraphics to print these amazing photos.”

“I love the green color we chose to paint with, too,” one of First Choice’s brokers Tina Pedersen exclaims. “It’s the color of growth and life and happiness, which are what real estate and home-buying are all about!”
On October 20th, 2017, the First Choice ribbon cutting took place. The party was a reflection of Anna’s desire to celebrate Mint Hill, too. The Open House was full of prizes donated by other local favorites: cupcakes from Daphne’s Bakery; gift cards to Aveda Spa, Dunwellz, Taxco and CharBar; and coupons for Subway and Pour64. Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce members, Phil Angelo and Paige McKinney, as well as Mayor Pro Tem Katrina Weaver Ross, were all in attendance.
Many of the other party attendees were clients of Ms. Granger’s and they all had wonderful things to say about her and her business. “Anna helped us buy a house about three years ago,” Mark Janik, a local member of the Mint Hill community shares. “When I first called Anna, it was kind of an emergency situation. I called her up and said ‘I don’t want to give you a lot of pressure, but this is an interview. You need to convince me in the next ten minutes that I should sign up with you.’ And she did! And she exceeded my expectations 100%. I have recommended her to several friends of mine. They have all been impressed. She gets it done. She finds a way.”

Linda Granzow, one of the First Choice brokers in attendance, says these rave reviews are not a surprise. “Anna is always here and available whenever someone needs her, whether it’s a client or a broker. She really makes this a fabulous place to work. We feel like a family.”
After cutting the ribbon, Granger shared a few thoughts about this exciting new chapter in her life. “It has been a great honor to open this office in Mint Hill. It has been a process to grow with the agency over the past several years; it has been an exciting journey. First Choice Properties has been a business since 2004, but it really took a village to open this office space. I’m thankful for my village.”
Granger already has her next business step lined up. “Beginning in November we are going to partner with Pour 64 and host ‘Beer with a Broker.’ The second Tuesday of every month we will be available to meet with members of our community and others who are considering becoming members of our community to answer questions and, just, talk about life.” Granger encourages readers to look at the First Choice social media pages to get more information about “Beer with a Broker” and other exciting opportunities they hope to bring to Mint Hill.
“Mint Hill is growing,” Granger smiles, “and I am excited to be growing right along with it.”
