MINT HILL, NC – Khalil Morrison stood out above the rest on Friday night for the Patriots. The versatile running back and wide receiver had an outstanding game in the 21-6 loss against Porter Ridge.

The 5’10” 160 pound junior who can be illusive with good hands and speed has proven to become a reliable and potent weapon on the offensive side of the ball for coach Mike Natoli. The young man accumulated 74 yards on 5 receptions, and gained the majority of the rushing yardage including an important 15 yard gainer, and 19 yard scamper. He scored the only touchdown in the game for the Patriots in a disappointing loss.

Morrison also had to fill in as the team quarterback when starter Arnold Taylor was injured late in the contest, showing his versatility, athleticism, and overall value to the team.

As Mint Hill Times sports writer Ron Morris simply stated, “Morrison was the work horse last night. He scored the only touchdown, ran for most of the yardage, played quarterback after Taylor went out late in the game. Have got to give it to him, he played his tail off.”

The Mint Hill Times sports editor and sports writers want to congratulate Khalil Morrison as being selected this weeks “Featured Player of the Week.”
