Chairman & CEO of Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated Visits Disabled Veterans, Seniors, and Special Needs Adults at Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care. Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated is the largest independent Coca Cola Bottler in the United States.
It was founded in 1902 by J.B. Harrison, the great grandfather of J. Frank Harrison III (current Chairman & CEO) in Greensboro, NC. This was North Carolina’s first Coca Cola Bottling Company. The company proudly communicates their messaging through various media outlets and in all its facilities. Their purpose is: To honor God, Serve others, Pursue excellence and Grow Profitably.
Currently, Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, with other partner companies, make, sell and distribute Coca Cola Beverages in more than 300 brands and flavors across 14 states and the District of Columbia to over 65 million consumers.
Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care was founded in January 1998 to provide disabled veterans, seniors, and special needs adults with a day time alternative to long term care, that would also meet their life-sustaining needs while giving caregivers a break from full-time caregiving.
Recently, longtime supporter and good friend of Blessed Assurance, Mr. J. Frank Harrison III, Chairman & CEO visited the disabled veterans, seniors, and special needs adults at Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care, located at 13001 Idlewild Road, Matthews, NC 28105. It is extremely unusual for the head of a major corporation to find time to visit a small non-profit, but Mr. Harrison is not just another corporate head; he is a child of God, said Huggins. Mr. Harrison has always exemplified his company’s motto, “Servant Leadership” by personally doing his part to strengthen our communities and giving back to those in need in our society.
Mr. Harrison made a pledge over 20 years ago to assist the Ministry of Blessed Assurance and has actively engaged his company and challenged his employees to serve as Jesus Christ served. Consequently, employees from Coca Cola are at Blessed Assurance every week serving our physically and mentally challenged population. Mr. Harrison and the Coca Cola Bottling Company has also been instrumental in the program’s growth and efforts to improve the quality of life for every Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care participant and the family of caregivers.
Every month, for the past 20 years, Mr. Harrison and Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated hosted a Birthday Party for every participant born in each month. “This is just another way Mr. Harrison has demonstrated his Christian care, concern, and value for every individual regardless of age and disability,” said Nate Huggins. Also, Mrs. Eliza Washington, who turned 100 in July 2018, considers Mr. Harrison and the things he does a real blessing according to Huggins.
