Chamber Benefits – Serving On The Board Of Directors

MINT HILL, NC – Did you know that all active members of the Chamber of Commerce have the opportunity to influence Mint Hill’s business community by serving on the Chamber’s Board of Directors?

The Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is a group of 12-15 individuals that serve a three-year volunteer term.  The Board of Directors works together to set the direction of the chamber and serve on various Chamber committees.

For current Board of Directors President Richard Peniston (Peniston Deason Attorneys at Law), being part of the Board of Directors is a chance to foster a positive atmosphere not only in the Chamber itself but in the community at large.  “Mint Hill is a Town that we are proud of and pleased to call home,” says Peniston.  “It is not an accident that Mint Hill offers us this kind of positive atmosphere to raise families and conduct our businesses. We have to be intentional about maintaining a positive community that fosters enterprise and cohesiveness.”

“In my view prosperity rises up from grass roots; it doesn’t trickle down from government or nationalism,” he continues.  “It starts at the community level, person to person. The prosperity of the community rises with citizens’ confidence in what  tomorrow promises. This confidence increases with  transparency in town leadership, businesses building for tomorrow, people feeling included and secure.”

“The Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce offers a great opportunity to serve the community,” Peniston concludes.  “The Chamber’s mission is ‘to promote and collaborate with businesses to cultivate a growing and connected community.’ For me, it is a perfect fit for serving Mint Hill. The Chamber isn’t political; it’s practical; it’s an advocate for prosperity.  Prosperity builds strong communities and great places for families.  So for me, serving as a member of the Board of Directors, and now President, is my best effort to make Mint Hill the best it can be. I highly recommend joining the Chamber to business owners, and further joining our Chamber Ambassadors, and ultimately the Board of Directors.”
