Chamber Benefits: Business After Hours

MINT HILL, NC – Did you know the Chamber offers members a chance to connect with other local businessmen and businesswomen outside of the regular working day?

It’s called Business After Hours, and it’s an opportunity to discuss and share ideas while learning about other local businesses in the community in a relaxed, post-work setting.

The most recent Business After Hours – and the first to happen post-COVID – took place on March 31 at Olde Sycamore.  Hosted by Tactical Pest in tandem with Brightflow Technologies, the event was a collaboration between the Mint Hill and Matthews Chambers of Commerce.

“The idea for a combined Business After Hours came from Gary Wojciechowicz (Tactical Pest),” says Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Paige McKinney.  “I really want to see our Business After Hours grow, and we had the idea for the first one post-COVID to be combined with the Matthews Chamber because our two communities are so interwoven.  Many people are members of both Chambers.”

“We, along with Brightflow Technologies decided to plan a Business After Hours to show the members the added value of belonging to both Chambers,” says Wojciechowicz.  “Both of our communities already do business with one another, and we feel that belonging to both Chambers gives businesses even more opportunities to do so.”

In order to add some excitement to the event as well as support two awesome nonprofits, Tactical Pest and Brightflow Technologies decided to raffle off baskets donated by members of both Chambers.  “The members were so generous and provided us with many amazing baskets!” said Wojciechowicz.  “This generated lots of excitement, which generated lots of money for our local nonprofits! We are so grateful to those who took the time to donate the baskets! The money raised went to The Matthews Free Medical Clinic and Servant’s Heart of Mint Hill.”

Wojciechowicz urges all of Mint Hill’s Chamber members not only to attend Business After Hours but to consider hosting.  “We feel that all businesses belonging to both Chambers should consider hosting an ‘After Hours,’” says Wojciechowicz.  “It’s a great opportunity for networking and fostering relationships. These laid back events often lead to conversations where you can really get to know your fellow members. It’s a great atmosphere to gain trust and credibility with other members that you might not get at other types of networking events.”
