Although she’s a relatively new resident, Brittani Muller is no stranger to Mint Hill. She has been heavily involved in the community for over fourteen years as one of the owners of the family business and local favorite Big Guy’s Pizza. “Some of my favorite memories in the community were becoming Miss Mint Hill 2010 and assisting the Mint Hill Police Department with National Night Out since 2011,” says Muller.
But dearest to Brittani’s heart is “Brittani’s Blessings,” now in its fourth year. “I started this because I realized how large the homeless community is in our area and the essential items that we take for granted every day that they don’t have access to,” says Muller. “I wrap them up to make a special ‘Blessing Bag’ for those that wouldn’t necessarily have anything to open for Christmas.”
Muller delivers the “Blessing Bags,” which contain items like shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, washcloths, mouthwash, socks, gloves, hats and packs of crackers, on Christmas Eve Day.
Brittani encourages everyone in the Mint Hill community to contribute items necessary to assemble the Blessing Bags. Donations can be dropped off at Big Guy’s Pizza located at 6914 Matthews-Mint Hill Road.
“Please help me make this year for so many of our homeless, so they can feel extra special and know they are not alone,” says Muller. “I hope to continue this tradition for many years and I thank those who have helped me already making Brittani’s Blessing such a passionate and rewarding treasure. Once you see the faces light up as they open their Blessings, you will be hooked to continue giving to those less fortunate!”
