
The Blessed Assurance Adult Day Care, held it’s 8th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. The entire full-day event was another complete success story on a beautiful sunny spring day.
The fundraising event was featured at the beautiful Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation on Thursday, April 11, 2019.  The day began early with breakfast being held at 9:00 a.m. The Shotgun Start began with a first hole tee off at 10:30 a.m. with the foursomes making their rounds around the course. A dinner was held following the tournament at the City Bar Barbeque located in Matthews.
The mission for the tournament was to directly support disabled veterans, seniors, and other adults with Alzheimer’s, Dementia and various other diseases suffered by the elderly in our local community and surrounding areas.
There were sponsorships at various levels Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Putting Contest Sponsor. There were many prizes awarded including a 2019 Toyota vehicle.
The Gold Sponsor was Sam’s Club, Silver Sponsor-Piedmont Natural Gas, Bronze Sponsor-Novant Health, Vehicle Sponsor-Scott Clark Toyota, Beverage Sponsor-Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, Advertising Sponsor-The Mint Hill Times, Photo Sponsor-Technocom.
Also, there was tremendous support provided between Charlotte, Matthews, and Mint Hill area business establishments who also sponsored the event with their charitable contributions. On the list include other noteworthy local organizations such as the North Carolina Army National Guard, Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce, Matthews Chamber of Commerce, the Mint Hill Police Department, Hooks-Orr American Legion Post 235, and various churches located in the community. The entire list of supporters and sponsors can be found on the Blessed Assurance website.
