Independence Patriots: 

Baseball: 



Tyler Spicer: The ace on the Independence Patriots baseball team has pitched 20.1 innings allowing 19 hits, 13 earned runs, has accumulated 22 strikeouts, has a 4.475 ERA, with 1.623 WHIP. He has a 1-4 record, but has been consistent and pitched better than his win to loss record indicates.

Softball: 

Midori Walkup – The senior had a great game against Hough going 3-4, with 4 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, and belting 2 HR’s to lead the Lady Patriots to a 12-7 win.

Terris Adkins – In the win over Hough the shortstop hit 2 doubles, 1 run, 2 RBI’s, and went 2-4 in the game while playing solid defense up the middle.

Sarah Johnson – The junior went 2-4, had 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI in a solid performance against Hough.

Queen’s Grant Stallions: 

Softball: 

Natalie Megale – The senior had a great week, she was 2-2 with 3 RBI’s against Bradford Prep, then went 3-4 against Central Academy, Megale has a solid .615 BA, 16 hits, 8 RBI’s,  4 doubles, OBP .688, SLG .769, OPS 1.457.

Abi Sawyers – The sophomore went 3-3, with a double, triple and 7 RBI’s against Bradford Prep. She is hitting a team high .690 BA, 20 hits, 26 RBI’s, 7 doubles, 2 triples, and 3 HR’s, OBP .677, SLG 1.379, OPS 2.056. On the pitching mound she has a 4.64 ERA, allowed 30 earned runs, 59 strikeouts, 7 BB, in 45 innings.

Reagan Cowick – The junior packs a .560 BA, 14 hits, 9 RBI’s, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR with a OBP .633, SLG .840, OPS 1.473. She went 2-2 with 2 ribbies, and a double against Bradford Prep.

Baseball: 

Alwin Duran – The senior is leading the team offensively. He has a .471 BA, 8 hits, 9 RBI’s, 7 extra base hits including 5 doubles and 2 triples. Duran OBP .550, SLG 1.000, OPS 1.550. In his past two ballgames he has gone 4-6 with 2 RBI’s and 2 stolen bases.

Emanuel Abreu – The junior pitched a solid and gutsy performance against Pine Lake Prep tossing 7.2 innings, allowing 8 hits, 4 earned runs, while hurling 104 pitches in the ballgame for the Stallions.

Play Of The Week: Triple Play by Independence Patriots Baseball 

Recently against the Wildcats with runners on 1st and 2nd base, a Wildcat hitter smashed a line drive that started the runners. Jake Stanley made a leaping catch, threw to Zack Mangum at 1st base behind the runner for the second out, Mangum fires back to Cooper Golden covering 2nd base, who tagged out the baserunner for the triple play.
