MINT HILL, NC – The 8th Annual Golf Classic was held recently at the Olde Sycamore Golf Plantation. The golfers began to arrive early to get their practice shots and putts polished up prior to hitting the course. Also, Chick-fil-A was on hand with some good food to keep the participants in great spirits. The players all checked in at registration, cleaned their clubs, and jumped into their assigned golf carts.

At 10:00 am, the players hit the links and staggered off to the front and back nine to tee off. Social distancing guidelines were in effect and worked to perfection.

Since 2013, the Mint Hill Chamber Golf Classic has brought together local businesses and business leaders in our community to enjoy time away from their busy schedules and calendars to have a friendly and enjoyable autumn day on the greens.

The golfers have an opportunity to make new business connections, rekindle old ones, and remain informed of what is happening in the local business community. They also spend time developing relationships while building a solid foundation for networking.

There are always special contests, gift bags, and refreshments on hand to make the experience a delightful one for all involved.

Foursomes and individual golfers have always been welcomed to participate and play at their leisure or competitively; it’s the golfer’s choice to make. Non-golfers can make a contribution through various sponsorships, marketing, and volunteer opportunities.

The event this year was hosted by the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Novant Mint Hill Medical Center. A box lunch was provided by Chick-fil-A located on Albemarle Road, and a boxed dinner was offered by Morrison Healthcare. The beverage cart sponsor was handled by All American Gutter Protection.
