One of the most commonly asked questions when it comes to social media marketing is what time brands should post on social media, followed by how often.
Unfortunately, there isn’t really a one-size-fits-all answer to either question. This is especially true now that the effects of COVID-19 have changed just about every audience and their behavior.
What hasn’t changed is the need for consistency. Posting regularly helps gives each post a better chance at being seen within the algorithm.
Posting on a schedule is usually the best way to stay consistent, and using a scheduling tool like Buffer or the tools built into Facebook is the easiest way to maintain a schedule.
Most brands should be aiming to post at least 2-3 times a week, but once a day is a great goal to work towards.
As for timing? Previously, late afternoon was the best time of day to post, but now with most people’s schedules looking drastically different due to COVID-19, mornings and early evenings seem to be best.
Each audience is different, though, so it’s always wise to experiment with different posting times and see what gets the best results.
If you’ve already done the work of pinpointing what times are better for your brand’s audience, it’s a good idea to do it again to be sure nothing has changed.
