Vacation resort of Presidents – Part 2

The Casa de Campo Resort, located in the Dominican Republic, is well-known for features no other resort can claim:

Villas are spread out across the entire resort, and along some of the fairways. Other rooms are spread in low-rise buildings as either patio or balcony rooms and suites. Many of the villas are big enough for corporate or family “takeovers”. They can be rented with a chef to provide meals and even barbeques on the patios. All are equipped with stockable bars and refrigerators.

Meeting rooms at this resort cater to corporate events, weddings, and special occasions, including family reunions and anniversaries. Cliffside and seaside wedding venues are outstanding and incomparable anywhere else. Tee times are always arranged in advance as availability is limited, so family and corporate golf events are very popular.

Altos de Chavon is one of the most popular tourist venues in the Caribbean. It is a 16th-century replica of a Mediterranean village perched high above the Chavon River. There are shops, boutiques, restaurants, and themed events. When Barbara and I were there, we were entertained by craftsmen and “jokers” in costume. It is a wonderful way to spend a few hours, with cool breezes and a slow pace of life.

Marina and Yacht Club is a very popular stop for yachtsmen and women of the Caribbean. It is fully equipped and resembles an Italian seaside resort. Once again, there are excellent boutiques, galleries, and stores at the Marina.

Check in next week for Part 3, the final installment of the series.
