
If we all knew the real secrets of being happy, I would not have to write this article. There are many books, websites and even countries devoted to this topic. I believe that being happy is a choice that you make. The same sentence that I seem to be preaching in these weekly articles is that the answer is inside of you. I think that being happy is a constant process whereby one check in with themselves and follows some of the ideas below.
Research shows that happy people have minimal expectation and aspirations. They want what they can get. They also know how to avoid disappointments and how to generate pleasant surprises.
Enjoy what you have or do
It is not about what you have or do. It’s how you think about it all. It starts on the inside. You control your thoughts.
Live for today
Don’t dwell on the past, on things that went wrong. Don’t dream about the future that doesn’t exist or worry about what hasn’t happened yet. Happy people live for the now. If you can’t be happy today, what makes you think tomorrow will be different?
Choose Happiness
Don’t be afraid to step back and review your goals. Your journey is a work in progress. Consider positive thinking and that will contribute to a happier lifestyle.
Be yourself
The only person who can hurt your happiness in the long run is YOU. Remember that phrase: Be Yourself. Everyone Else Is Already Taken
Stop worrying
Happy people recognize that 90 percent of worries never happen.
Get Organized
Happy people plan and have a purpose. You can only get what you want or desire if you know what it is. You want or desire it in the first place.
