I want to express my disgust in the horrific death of George Floyd. The video, which we have all seen, tells a story, that has been told again and again. George Floyd was suffocated by a police officer while three other officers stood by and did nothing to help. Your elected officials mourn the death of George Floyd and we condemn the inexcusable actions of the police officers in Minnesota who took his life. We support the rights of those who are peacefully protesting and honoring the memory of George Floyd and countless others that have been victims of racism and police violence. Let us continue to work together to ensure that protests remain peaceful and stay focused on the goal of driving meaningful change, not more violence.
