CHARLOTTE – In addition to regular veterinary care, dogs can also benefit from complementary therapies, such as chiropractic work. At Passionate Paws Animal Hospital, complementary therapies are an important part of our work, as we believe in an integrative approach to keeping your fur babies healthy and well using the safest and most effective healthcare plans uniquely designed just for them.
We offer chiropractic care at both of our hospital locations, and Dr. Bonilla and Dr. Brue are both certified in animal chiropractic. While many of our patients take advantage of complementary therapies, we welcome pets into our practices for chiropractic work even if they aren’t established care patients with us.
There are a variety of reasons that chiropractic care may be helpful for your four-legged friend. Dogs may benefit from chiropractic beginning at an early age. Chiropractic maintenance in puppies helps to make sure everything is moving correctly. For active dogs — especially ones who hunt, herd, etc.— keeping proper spine alignment for agility is very important. Chiropractic work can also be an excellent complement to injury care. Trauma, injury, or degenerative wear and tear to your pet’s spine negatively affect the spine’s surrounding muscles, ligaments, and nerves. Correcting spinal misalignment restores function and mobility to the injured spine, allowing your pet to regain and maintain strength, vigor, and well being.
