In the past few weeks, life has drastically changed for many families in our country, including mine. Just two weeks ago, my family’s calendar was full to overflowing and then, suddenly, everything screeched to a halt. No church activities. No scouts. No sports. No school activities. No playdates with groups of friends. Everything is canceled and closed. Social distancing is the new norm.

Nowadays, I’m at home all day with four kids and nowhere to go. And, to top it off, my husband’s office is temporarily stationed in the middle of my bedroom. Keeping the kids on track with their school work, out of trouble, and quiet while my husband is working is more than a little stressful. Most of the time, by the end of the day, I’m ready to pull my hair out! Can anyone else relate?

Although this is certainly a time of uncertainty and stress, it can also be a time of blessing. In our over-busy lives, it’s so easy to rush from activity to activity, sacrificing quality time with those we love the most. Without the hectic pace of school, sports, and other activities, we’ve been given the opportunity to slow down and simply spend time with our families.

Even though we’re all stuck at home, there are so many fun things to do together as a family. Here are 31 ideas for family fun that are sure to chase away the boredom blues. Best of all, not one of these involves a screen of any kind!
