10 Valentine Ideas for Kids

Valentine’s Day is Tuesday! While my husband and I will sometimes enjoy a date night out for Valentine’s Day, we usually just enjoy celebrating as a family. My husband always brings red roses for me and my daughter. We send the kids on a scavenger hunt through the house to find love notes and a candy treat. And we have lots of fun making a special meal with pink, red and heart shaped foods. Somehow sandwiches always taste better cut into heart shapes!

My kids also enjoy handing out valentines to their friends. We seem to be stuck in a valentine rut though. Every year we choose the same thing—a box of cards with tattoos or candy. That’s usually what my kids receive from their friends as well, but occasionally, they’ll receive a valentine that’s a little more unique. These valentines are usually simple, but cute, and they always make me smile.

If you’re tired of the same old box of cards and candy, here are 10 unique valentine ideas for the kids to give away to friends. The gifts can be purchased at the dollar store and the kids can make cute notes to attach. Best of all, none of these ideas include candy!
