Tosh Alberga

The Independence junior was selected the “Player of the Game” by head basketball coach Preston Davis for his all around performance in the Patriots home opener. The 6’7″ Power Forward scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, had 4 steals, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 1 tip in the contest while dominating in key game situations under the boards. He also played a very solid defensive game making it difficult for his opponents to penetrate driving lanes or consider going baseline to the basket. His play forced the visitors to shoot outside the perimeter and take 3-point shots or jump shots around the key. When the visiting team did try going inside down low they were aggressively challenged and he was only called for 2 personal fouls. His presence inside the paint was very apparent.
