Why did you join the Chamber? “We joined the Mint Hill Chamber of Commerce to network and build relationships with business leaders in our area. We want to spread the word of the good work we can do as a veterans organization within our local community. This includes Scouting, American Legion baseball, support of JROTC programs, bringing American Legion softball to Mint Hill, support of local veterans with participation in the Mecklenburg County Veterans Council, Novant Health Veterans Committee, support annual Veterans Breakfast, Vietnam Moving Wall, Honor the Warriors annual bike ride, support our first responders Mint Hill Police, Fire & Rescue and more.”

Fun fact: “As Post 555, our organization is known as “Triple Nickel.” A U.S. Army Special Forces unit. Also, during WWII there was an all-black Parachute Infantry Battalion 555, known as the “Triple Nickels.”

The early citizens of Mint Hill depended on Agriculture. While they originally focused on crop farming, they switched to dairy farming as crop farming became less profitable.
