Dogs are one of the more varied species on earth. They can range from a 2 pound Chihuahua to a 170 pound Great Dane.

If a dog isn’t spayed or neutered, a female dog, her mate and their offspring, can produce 67,000 dogs in 6 years.



A dog’s nose has as many as 300 million smell receptors. In comparison, a human nose has about 5 million.

Yawning is contagious—even for dogs. Research shows that the sound of a human yawn can trigger one from your dog. And it’s four times as likely to happen when it’s the yawn of a person he knows.

Three dogs (from First Class cabins!) survived the sinking of the Titanic – two Pomeranians and one Pekingese.
