It’s that time of year already! Where did summer disappear to? As we all get ready for Labor Day, Summer’s last hurrah, it’s time to plan and start our fall gardens. I’ve composed a list of vegetables that can be seeded directly into the ground for a lovely fall crop.
- Bush Snap Beans
- Brussel Sprouts
- Swiss Chard
It is also time for us to add some needed color to our lives. Fall flowering annuals will continue to show off until the first frost. For our area you might consider:
- Pansies and Violas
- Snap Dragons
What could be more beautiful than a large pot filled with ivy, snap dragons, mums and pansies? One on each side of your entry would be lovely and should last almost through Thanksgiving. Stay tuned for ideas to convert your entry way pots to Christmas.
Fall flowers like regular fertilizing. They use up their nutrients because they are constantly producing flowers.
