2019 – What’s in Store for the Mint Hill Real Estate Market

North Carolina is expected to offer some of the hottest real estate markets in the county for 2019. Charlotte was named at the fourth hottest housing market in the United States for 2018 and that trend is expected to continue into 2019.

For Mint Hill, this means more of the same with a hot real estate market and plenty of buyers looking to relocate to the area. There are several drivers behind the very strong real estate market in Charlotte and Mint Hill. Let’s look at a few of these important drivers.


One of the major reasons Mint Hill has become so popular for home buyers are the jobs. It’s close enough for residents to commute to many of the major employers found in the Greater Charlotte Area. In addition, Mint Hill offers several options for employment.

The state’s unemployment rate dropped quite a bit throughout 2018 and even dipped below 4% in August of last year. The strong economy has about 100 people per day moving to the state and many of those relocating are looking at the Charlotte area and Mint Hill.

Another driver of the strong real estate market in Mint Hill is investor affordability. This driver is seen throughout Charlotte and many of the suburban communities in the Greater Charlotte Area. While home prices may be a bit higher than the rest of the state, the cost of a home in Mint Hill and Charlotte is still more affordable than most of the national pricing averages. This provides plenty of value for investors looking to buy in the Charlotte area, including in Mint Hill.

Mint Hill offers a high quality of life as a part of the Charlotte Area. Charlotte was ranked very high on the U.S. News rankings of the best places to live and to retire. The high score for the area was due to overall value, the safety of the community, available job, and amenities.

The housing market in Mint Hill is already very hot and very popular. With 2018 behind us and 2019 starting, it’s time to look at what the future holds for Mint Hill. For 2019, expect more of the same with the real estate market trending upward and plenty more growth coming to Mint Hill.
