CHARLOTTE – We left home here in Mint Hill at 4:30 am for our 7:30 flight to Miami out of charlotte Douglas. We had decided to choose to park in the airport Long Term Parking lots this time. We can usually choose between some off-premise parking near the airport such as “The Parking Spot”, or park at the airport. We have found these off-premise lots do a very good job of picking you up and transporting you to the departure area of the airport. At this time there is only one entrance to the airport terminal open at the transportation level. The Airport Parking busses take you a little closer to that entrance than the off-premise. We parked in lot # 2 and were picked up within 5 minutes at the shelter. Up to the terminal took a mere 5more minutes, and we were on our way. Once inside we met up with our group and headed for the baggage drop area. For those who had not completed the boarding Pass before arriving, there were automated kiosks for that. We were 15 minutes to TSA. Barbara and I have TSA PreCheck, a real-time saver at most airports. We were through TSA in 15 minutes, with no problems. I did not have to remove my shoes or take my CPAP out of my bag. Our American Airlines flight was out of terminal D. We took our time and got to the gate in plenty of time (we always allow 90 minutes for Domestic Flights and 120 minutes for international flights).
