We Cruised With Virgin Voyages Part 11

CHARLOTTE – Dinner tonight was at an upscale Mexican / American restaurant. The atmosphere was very lively as were the Mescal Margaritas, a specialty of the room. Food was authentic Spanish food and not overly spiced. The music was lively, but not so loud as to negate conversation, just a good combination. The staff was very patient in explaining how the dishes were presented and how spice could be adjusted. We spent some time in the Casino where all the machines were new, the tables were lively, and the atmosphere was fun. We did speak to a couple on day 3, who actually won a bit at the tables, so it appears to be a fair casino. Barbara and I are not big gamblers, but we enjoy some fun machines for a few hours. Actually, we both agreed we were still tired, so we went to our room where Barbara read and I watched a movie ( well, most of it!).

Day 3 brought us to Cozumel. Here there were many opportunities to enjoy an activity like scuba, sailboats, ferry to Playa, and shopping. Barbara and I elected the latter. We found some excellent silver that had a written guarantee as to quality and weight, at a fair price. We enjoyed shopping for handmade goods at the local shops. It was good to see the islanders out working again after 18months with no income.
