It would be easier if I could tell you where cruise lines do NOT go, but I won’t go there. Let’s start with the Caribbean.
Most cruises leave from the East coast, Virginia to Florida, with New York City, and New Jersey also in the running. From those two northern ports, Bermuda, Florida, and the Bahamas are 99% of the destinations. There are some northern cruises going to New England and Canada and Nova Scotia from those ports and Boston. Shorter cruises go to the Bahama Islands, including Nassau, Freeport, and some private islands. Six day and longer cruise go to Islands like St Thomas, St John, Jamaica, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Cancun. Those leaving from South Florida Ports can go to Belize, Honduras, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama Canal. Longer Length cruises go to deep Caribbean ports like Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, Grenada. From South America, cruises visit Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru.
There are many European ports, as cruising in Europe is very popular. England, France, Italy, and Greece are the most popular departure ports. Cruises visit Russia, Scandanavian Countries, some of the newer countries like Slovenia. Also the Greek Islands, are very popular. Cruises regularly visit the Middle East countries like Israel, Turkey, Egypt and Morocco. Many passengers feel much safer visiting these areas on a cruise ship. The Far East has recently seen a surge in cruising interest. China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and even the Philippines and Indonesia are seeing Ocean Cruise Ships.
Back once again to the USA and Canada, Alaska and Hawaii have seen unprecedented cruise passenger increases in the last 3 to 5 years. There are now more than 18 different Cruise Ships visiting Alaska in the Summer, which explains the dearth of ships from Florida during that period. You can visit Hawaii’s Islands from Hawaii, or from the USA, and can travel down to the Tahitian and Fijian Islands on longer voyages.
