CHARLOTTE – Monday had us walking around at the pool area while we waited for our trip to the airport. Yes, the only sad day ever at Sandals is the day we have to leave. We were pleased to spend time with one of my favorite resort managers, sitting on a park bench and enjoying all Barbados could show us of perfect weather.
Just to be sure in case I have not mentioned it my bill was ZERO. That has to be the best part of any luxury vacation. You pay ahead of time and leave your wallet in the safe. Sandals requests all guests wear face Cover while inside buildings or confined areas. They maintain reduced occupancy in the resort, at restaurants, and in stores. The casual restaurants gladly invite clients with cover-ups during the day.
The cleaning is non-stop. Staff wipes down every surface with disinfectant several times a day, as well as after every use. We watched as a staff member climb into our pool, a bucket of disinfectant in hand, and wipe down every pool surface by Hand.
Our trip home on American Airlines started off in the Barbados terminal with a very good experience clearing Customs and Immigration. Our flight was 50% full and we had purchased snacks in the terminal prior to departure. We arrived in Miami where we were met by a wheelchair assistant. After a long experience through Miami Customs and Immigration, we were rushed to our departure gate in time for our flight to Charlotte and home.
