The World’s Rivers Part 5

Scenic Cruise Line is a luxury river cruise operator in Europe and Asia. Probably one of the most important distinctions for Scenic is a relationship with National Geographic. This presents a unique opportunity for our clients to be escorted by tour leaders from National Geographic on tours designed by National Geographic. If you have watched any of these on the National Geographic Channel, you were no doubt thrilled by the experience. It is 100 times better in person. These are opportunities to visit sites not travelled every day. The 11 scenic ships are named after Jewels such as Opal.  They operate about 10 National Geographic trips a year in Europe and a very limited cruise schedule on the Irrawaddy to Mandalay and Myanmar. Scenic prides themselves on delivery of an inclusive luxury experience. They have culinary experiences, serve top shelf liquors and wines, have room service in all suites included and more than 2 dining choices on every ship. They advertise Butler Service in suites. Let’s take a cruise.

We have chosen the Bordeaux National Geographic experience, a 10 night cruise from Bordeaux round trip. We board on day 1 and are impressed with the style and cleanliness of this ship. We will steer away from the words Luxury after this one statement. Since there is no one definition for calling something Luxury, there is nothing I have experienced in the Luxury market better than what is offered on board Scenic ships. Day 2 takes us to Libourne where we have a wonderful Culinaire experience, then move on to Chateau Siaurac for a great wine tasting.

Check back next week for our next series.
