SANTORINI , SUNSETS, AND LOVE Part 2

The most popular way to enjoy the Greek Islands is by a combination of land and ferry. At first thought, using a ferry seems distasteful to many Americans. This may be the result of very little experience with ferries in America. A good Travel Agent can book you on the excellent ferry system these islands are famous for, while ensuring you have the conveniences on board you are looking for. Some have entertainment and lounges, most have food and snacks and drinks. Prices are very reasonable, and many are Hi Speed. You can use a Hotel or Resort on 1 Island, making day trips to some close by Islands. Good Advice would tend to book you on more than 1 Island, so you can see the Islands you agree are most important to you. Santorini is the most well known Island to Americans because of advertising and photography. Even more popular with Europeans and Greeks alike are Mykonos and Heraklion, on Cyprus. Mykonos is well known for the “ See and be Seen” crowd. The rich and famous, the wealthy, movie stars, and artists tend to vacation in Mykonos. Take a stroll and watch out for someone you might have seen or heard of. Mykonos is full of sparkling beaches from which to join in the “Ultimate Tan” competition.

Santorini is – well – Santorini. White washed small buildings populate towns like Oia. There is no way to describe sunset from Oia, other than one – of – a – kind. The natural cliffs lend to an unobstructed view as the sky lights up in 1000 shades of fire. Clear Mediteranean skies make sunset from anywhere on Santorini a feast for the heart as well as the eyes. There are many places to visit on day trips, but just savoring the Greek Island Lifestyle and food, is vey fulfilling.  Check back next week for part 3.
