CHARLOTTE – Dinner was aboard one of the magnificent River Cruise Ships that ply the Sienne River in Paris. We boarded early, at about 7:30, and were just enthralled by the brilliant opulence of our floating dining room. Everyone boarded by 8:30 and we cast off for our pleasant cruise and dinner. We were very pleased to find the couple next to us were celebrating an engagement, and he presented her with the ring in front of Barbara and I. That certainly made our night even more meaningful. We had a two-piece musical accompaniment and enjoyed tunes on request as well as some golden oldies. Food was served by our first-class waiter and was served by courses over a period of 3 hours. Our dining room was not only floating down the Sienne River, but was fully glassed in, walls and roof, for the most spectacular views we could imagine. It was a priceless memory of the beginning of an adventure that would awaken our senses to Luxury and Fine Dining.
Day 3 was a travel day. Our Cruise Director was staying at our Hotel all along, and he joined us as we headed out to meet our River Cruise Ship. Our Tour Bus carried us along the riverfront to the Paris train Station called Gare. There we boarded one of the high speed trains in our first-class car, headed for the Saone River.
