CHARLOTTE – Everyone will be required to wear a mask when in a public area such as a Hotel Lobby, Restaurant, Resort public area, and public access to beaches. You will not be required to wear a mask while on the beach unless you walk off to use a restroom or food service.

There will be a myriad of requirements, barely enforceable, about gathering. That will vary by municipality, County, or State. Whoever knew there could be a “Phase 2.5”? Mostly you will be asked not to gather outside of your immediate household (not family) and conform to the maximum number of participants set down by local regulation.



Buffets at Hotels are a memory. Barbara and I stayed at a hotel in Florida several months ago and were offered a bag of chips, a package of donuts, and a bottled drink for breakfast. We opted for a restaurant that was social distancing in a strip mall across the boulevard.

Temperature checks will be commonplace. Currently, many foodservice and retail businesses are doing temperature checks.

Shelter in Place requirements are popping up periodically. As some states or areas see in a rapid increase in cases, they may require shelter in place for up to 14 days for visitors. Hawaii currently has such an order. Please have your Travel Advisor check for you before you make reservations.
