Calik “Duke” Thomas, Rocky River RavensÂ
The 6′ 4″ junior continues to play consistently for the Rocky River Ravens basketball team. He had another solid week scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds with a block against the Eagles from East Mecklenburg while playing tough defensively. On Friday night he scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds with 2 assists vs. Porter Ridge in two important Southwestern 4A Conference contests.
He is a consistent and reliable player, he has good court awareness, is intelligent, very competitive and is a hard nose defender. He plays with utter abandon, but under control at all times.
For the season, he is averaging 14.8 points per game, 1.5 assists, 6.6 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks. Thomas is shooting 50% from the floor with an Average Field Goal Percentage of 59%.
“Duke” continues to impress and clearly has earned this nomination. The Sports Editor and Sports Writers at the Mint Hill Times want to congratulate Calik Thomas for his accomplishment and recognition.
