Friday, June 8
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, April through September, from 5-9 pm. The Town of Mint Hill will host a family fun night featuring SugarSmaX Live. Families will enjoy an evening of music, bounce houses, face painting, food and family games.
The Charlotte Symphony will perform in Stumptown Park in Matthews. The prelude act will begin at 7 p.m. with the symphony performance at 8:15 p.m. Food trucks will be available during the event.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.
Children ages 5-11 can register for a one-on-one math tutoring session with a teen volunteer. Tutoring sessions are held at 11 a.m.
The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.
