Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
Friday, June 9
Matthews Playhouse will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” June 9-25. Showtimes are on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ticket prices are $19 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. Visit matthewsplayhouse.com for showtimes and to purchase tickets.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Stumptown Park in downtown Matthews for “Food Truck Friday.” The event is held on second and fourth Fridays, March through September, from 5-9 p.m. The event features food and dessert trucks, music and bounce houses. Saturday, June 10
The Town of Mint Hill will host a concert by the School of Rock Show Team at 7:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the music.
The Charlotte Symphony will perform at Stumptown Park in Matthews. The prelude act will begin at 7 p.m. followed by the symphony performance at 8:15 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, enjoy the music and dinner from area food trucks.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.
The Teen Geek Club will meet at 2 p.m. This month’s theme is Angry Birds. Registration is required.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2. The program will include stories, songs and movement.
Afternoon Adventures: Homeschool Edition will be held at 1 p.m. The program, for children ages five to 18, is focused on developing literacy and critical thinking skills through books and hands-on activities.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Rising kindergarteners are invited to participate in the Get Set 4 Kindergarten program at 2 p.m. The program is focused on building pre-reading skills and preparing children for success in school. Registration is required.
Reading Buddies for children ages five through 12 will be available at 6 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:
Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.
Preschool Story Time for children age three to five will be held at 11:15 a.m.
Children ages five to 11 can learn about solids, liquids, and gases by watching a series of experiments with dry ice. The Fiddlestix program will be held at 3 p.m. and is limited to 24 children. Registration is required.
