Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 4 p.m. Registration is required.

The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Rochester Americans at 7 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte.  The first 1,400 fans will receive a free beach ball.  Visit gocheckers.com for a schedule, promotions and ticket information.

Saturday, March 16

For a full day of St. Patrick’s Day festivities, head to uptown Charlotte for the twenty-third annual Charlotte Goes Green Festival and Charlotte St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  The festival will be located on South Tryon Street between Third and Stonewall Street and will be open from 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.  The festival features Irish music and dancing, vendors, food and children’s activities.  The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at North Tryon Street and Ninth Street, march south to Third Street, turn left on Third Street and march to Caldwell.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Registration is required.

Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Teens are invited to join in for Community Service Saturday from 2-4 p.m. Attendees will work on projects to help the library and other organization in the community.  Registration is required.

The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2 years.  The program will include stories, songs and movement.

The Teen Geek Club will meet at 4 p.m. for St. Patrick’s Day games and activities. Registration is required.

An Active Reading Workshop will be held at 10:15 a.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home.  Registration is required for this four part workshop series.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.
