Thursday, March 7

Blumenthal Performing Arts will present American Girl Live March 7-9 at the McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square in Charlotte.  Prices for the musical begin at $25.  Showtimes are Thursday, March 7 at 7 p.m., Friday, March 8 at 7 p.m. and Saturday March 9 at 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Visit www.blumenthalarts.org for more information.



Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Story Garden: Home school edition will be held at 1 p.m.  Children will enjoy stories and hands-on gardening activities. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes.  Registration is required.

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 4 p.m. Registration is required.

Friday, March 8

The Charlotte Hornets will take on the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m. at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte.  The first 10,000 fans will receive a Larry Johnson bobblehead.  Visit www.nba.com/hornets for a schedule, promotions and ticket information.

Saturday, March 9

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.  Registration is required.

A STEM 101 program for pre-teens and teens will be held at 11 a.m.  Children ages 8-15 will participate in a variety of hands-on science experiments, engineering projects or math puzzles.  Registration is required.

The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.

Monday, March 11

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2.  The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.  Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

Tuesday, March 12

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.  Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes.  Registration is required.

Wednesday, March 13

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The Read a Book, Learn to Cook program will be held at 4 p.m.  This is a hands-on program for school-age children to explore healthy cooking and eating.  Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30 and 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.  Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.
