Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:



Family Story Time will be held at 11:15 a.m.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4 and 4:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes. Registration is required.

One-on-one math tutoring sessions with a teen volunteer will be available at 4 p.m. Registration is required.

Friday, March 1

The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Binghampton Devils at 7 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte.  There will be a sports equipment drive presented by the American Heart Association.  Donate a piece of sports equipment such as footballs, jump ropes or soccer balls and receive a free ticket to the Sunday, March 24 game.  Visit gocheckers.com for a schedule, promotions and ticket information.

Saturday, March 2

Matthews Playhouse will present The Jungle Book:  The Musical February 22 through March 3. Tickets are $14 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Showtimes are February 22 at 7:30 p.m., February 23 at 2 p.m., February 24 at 2 p.m., March 2 at 2 p.m. and March 3 at 2 p.m. The show is recommended for ages five and up.  Visit www.matthewsplayhouse.com for more information or to purchase tickets.

The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Binghampton Devils at 6 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte. Tonight’s game will feature an appearance and pregame autograph session with WWE superstar R-Truth.  A special package including a game ticket and photo print for autographs is available for purchase.  The first 1,000 fans will receive a Husqvarna hat. Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.

Monday, March 4

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Families with babies and toddlers can visit the library at 9:30 a.m. for Family Story Time: 0-2.  The program will include stories, songs and movement.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 4:00, 4:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes.  Registration is required.

Tuesday, March 5

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The American Girl Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. This month’s topic will be Marie Grace and Cecile. Registration is required.

Reading Buddies for children ages 5 through 11 will be available at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. Children will read one-on-one with a teen volunteer for 30 minutes.  Registration is required.

Wednesday, March 6
