The Charlotte Checkers will take on Toronto at 6 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte. There will be a NASCAR Night autograph session and appearances by Ryan Newman, Regan Smith, Corey LaJoie and more. Family Story Time will be held at 9:30 a.m.

Children can strengthen reading skills by reading aloud to a therapy dog during the Paws to Read program at 10:30 a.m.

Community Service Saturday will be held at 2 p.m. Teens will work on community service projects to help the library and other community service organizations. Registration is required.

The Chess Club will meet at 3 p.m.

Sunday, January 20

The Charlotte Checkers will take on Toronto at 1 p.m. at the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte. Take the ice after the game during the postgame skate. The cost to skate is $8 for those who bring their own skates and $10 for those who rent skates. Proceeds benefit the Checkers Charitable Foundation. Tuesday, January 22

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Baby Story Time for babies birth through 17 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Tiny Tots Story Time for toddlers ages 18 to 23 months will be held at 11:15 a.m.

An Active Reading Workshop Part 2 will be held at 3 p.m. Parents and children can learn fun ideas and activities to support early literacy at home. Registration is required for this four part workshop series.

Wednesday, January 23

Mint Hill Library children’s activities for today are as follows:

Two Time Story Time for toddlers age 24 to 36 months will be held at 10:15 a.m.

Preschool Story Time for children age 3 to 5 will be held at 11:15 a.m.

The Teen Geek Club will meet at 4 p.m. Registration is required.

Bring the whole family to enjoy a puppet show at 6:30 p.m.
