The Town of Mint Hill will host the annual Christmas Tree Lighting at 7 p.m. Santa will be present to visit with children and there will be hot chocolate, cider and cookies to enjoy. Bring a gender neutral toy to support the Mint Hill Police Department’s Toy Drive.
The Charlotte Motor Speedway will host the annual Speedway Christmas from November 18 through December 31. The Christmas light show boasts over 3.5 million lights and a Christmas village including a 50 foot Ferris wheel, Bethlehem village, photos with Santa and more. Holiday on Ice, Charlotte’s outdoor ice skating rink, is open for the 2018 season. Starting November 16, the rink is open Wednesday through Sunday. Reed Gold Mine in Midland will host A Golden Christmas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festivities will include hay rides, holiday crafts, demonstrations, refreshments and candlelit mine tours. There is a $3 cost for hay rides and underground mine tours (free for children 2 years old and younger).
The Mint Hill Police Department’s 3rd Annual Jingle All the Way 5K Walk/Run will be held at 9 a.m. Proceeds benefit the MHPD Volunteer and Explorers Program. For more information contact the MHPD at 704-545-1085.

A STEM 101 program for children ages 10 to 15 will be held at 3 p.m. The program will include hands-on science experiences, engineering projects or math puzzles. December’s program will feature winter games and activities. Registration is required.
