The Glow, a Halloween wonderland of more than 5,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns, will illuminate the Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Carolina Rebellion Campground from October 4-28. The event will feature detailed single pumpkin carvings and large structures, fall food, and live demonstrations from master carvers. The Halloween stroll will be open from Thursday through Sunday. Matthews Playhouse will present a Haunted Trail October 26-30 from 6-10 p.m. The trail will be located on the Greenway Connector Trail behind the Community Center at 100 McDowell St East. The first hour (6-7 p.m.) will be the Not So Spooky Hour for little ones. At the door prices are $7 for ages 12 and under and $10 for ages 13 and up. The Town of Matthews will host a Not So Spooky Halloween event from 5-9 p.m. at Stumptown Park. The event will feature trick-or-treating, clowns, carriage rides, face painting, candy and a pumpkin contest. The movie “Halloweentown” will start at dusk (approximately 7 p.m.).
